Educational Quotations – Thoughts 12
"Learning is not attained by chance, it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence."
~ Abigail Adams
I like this quotation. There are many ways to interpret it and extract meaning, but here is one.
You need to be an active learner.
It is not enough just to show up. Some students, and even some parents, believe that simply attending school is sufficient. Some get very upset when they get a poor grade even though they went to every class.
So what!
Keeping a seat warm won’t make you any smarter if you aren’t engaged and willing to do some work.
Gaining an education takes a little work, and a great education takes a lot of work.
Become keen about learning. Want to seek new information, and you will find the whole process a lot easier.
Commit yourself to doing better, and then actively take the steps necessary. (A good starting point is the six steps to success blog entries a little further down this page.)
I know you can do it!
