Yes, and to be willing to listen to thoughts and ideas that don’t align with your currently held beliefs is important.
Stay calm, listen, assess fairly after you have heard the main argument and supports.
Try to put yourself into the framework of the speaker or writer to be as objective as you can be.
You might change your mind.
You might not change your mind.
At any rate, you could find a third way of looking at things.
At the very least, the new information might lend itself to your thought processes as new supports for your framework.
The point is that there are many more learning opportunities when you are open for business – open to listening and truly hearing what others have to say.
